Breeding bird survey season about to begin

We are now approaching the start of breeding bird survey season, and if you have a requirement for a breeding bird survey this year it is important to start making arrangements with us soon. The current improvement in weather conditions means that birds such as Hen Harriers will now be displaying in advance of the bird breeding seasons.  Observations of displaying males are essential for a full understanding of breeding birds in the area of your proposed development, and particularly for proposed wind energy developments.

We will commencing breeding bird surveys for projects such as wind farm developments shortly. We also undertake a range of other breeding bird surveys, for example we are about to commence a breeding kingfisher survey on the River Nore and also survey of breeding riparian birds along the River Shannon. We survey for all species of birds and are experts in designing a suitable survey approach for your proposed development site. We work throughout the Island of Ireland. ECOFACT are recognised experts in providing these assessments, and we are the leading independent provider of bird surveys and ornithological impact assessments in Ireland.
